Featuring a heavy bodied cup with fresh orange and light cocoa tones, our Guatemalan coffee delivers a rich flavor with a winey finish. Cultivated at an extreme altitude of 6,500 feet, Monroe's Guatemalan coffee is produced in the rich growing region of southwest Guatemalan. In the highlands of this region, dry and mountainous family farms are at such heights that cold weather and potential frosts present a danger to the crop. Lacking volcanic soil, the region’s climate is most responsible for the coffee’s unique flavor and complex acidity. This Guatemalan coffee is hand-picked, sorted, and then wet processed with precise attention given to the timing of fermentation. Afterwards, it is sun dried in order to complete its processing.
